On the heels of successful business, education and leisure tours to China, Ireland, and Portugal, the Porterville Chamber has announced plans to offer a fall tour to Italy. The trip happens November 10-19, 2009. Highlights of the Discover Tuscany trip include visits to Rome, Assisi, San Gimignano, Siena, and Florence. One of the business tours will provide the unique experience of learning the traditional Italian techniques of leather making during a visit to the family-owned Pierotucci Leather Shop in Siena. Another tour will take the group to a Tuscan winery to learn about the art of winemaking famous in that region. Travelers will also be schooled in the process of making Italian olive oil. Sightseeing and the opportunity to experience the rich cultural and architectural offerings of Italy will surely delight those participating in the tour.

The Discover Tuscany trip is made available through a partnership with Hanson Travel Ideas and Collette Vacations, both licensed travel providers with long histories of offering quality travel experiences. The tour itinerary does have ample time for travelers to explore some of the areas on their own or there are additional options available. The cost for this exceptional travel program is $3,323 per person, double occupancy with a special discount available with bookings by April 15th.
